Its Calvados has the rare aromatic qualities researched by connoisseurs. They are the expression of the Norman tradition and Jehan Foucart’s know-how. Made from apples from Normandy orchards, this Calvados has been elaborated and aged according to the traditional methods.
The essence of Calvados
Père Laizé Calvados are produced only using single distillation, also called continuous distillation.
The single distillation method preserves the apple’s full aroma, giving this Calvados an intense and powerful taste of its origin.
Père Laizé Calvados combines the strength of its youth with the fragrance of the apple. This Calvados is made using ancestral methods: after a single distillation, the brandy is aged in oak barrels to develop generous notes of apples, more or less caramelized depending on the time spent in the barrels.
The diversity of the Norman soil
Marquis de MontDidier honors the Norman terroir with a Calvados composed of eaux-de-vies from multiple apple varieties harvested only in the Calvados appelation area. Tribute to the first known distilleur
Gilles de Gouberville was responsible for the first known distillation of cider and the birth of “cider brandy”, which could not yet be called Calvados.
He is considered today as the inventor of Calvados. In memory of Sire de Gouberville, the Cellar Master has created the Vieille Réserve: this Calvados Vieille Réserve is a tribute to Sire de Gouberville who lived in Mesnil au Val in the Manche in the 16th century and who left us the first written trace of cider distillation: Calvados.

Henri d’Osne X.O. Armagnac is characterized by a perfect mastery of the blending work of the Cellar Master combining single and double distillation, which gives an Armagnac of a superb aromatic complexity with a fruity nose and an ample mouth. Notes of plum develop with age, from greengage to mirabelle plum, evolving to candied prune.
